Many parents are sending their children into the world with zero spiritual tools. This isn't judgment. This is a fact. A lot of kids have nothing to combat all of the things the enemy throws at them every day, and the enemy launches big missiles at kids. He exposes them to sex and pornography as early as elementary school. He even starts inundating them with identity issues.
Kids are in a constant battle whether we realize it or not.
This episode is part one of a two part series on parenting kids and equipping them spiritually. Parents are the most influential people in their child’s spiritual growth journey, so it’s important that parents be the first teacher and model of what it is like to be a believer in and follower of Christ.
Even if you don’t currently have kids or if you have no plans of having your own kids, you may still find yourself parenting someone’s kids and needing to teach them spiritual tools. The dictionary defines a parent as a person who brings up and cares for another.
I invited minister Karen Malone on to help us in this area. This episode is packed with so much valuable information to help guide you along the way of teaching spiritual tools.
Min. Karen L. Malone serves as Senior Director of Family Ministry at Faith Chapel in Birmingham, AL where she has served in full-time ministry for over 11 years. She has a passion for serving and supporting others in expanding their influence, and believes in developing our next generation leaders at a young age, so that they grow up as bold and courageous leaders for Christ.
Karen taught for 11 years in the Madison City School district in Madison, Alabama before transitioning into full-time ministry at Faith Chapel. Her first ministry, as well as her greatest honor and achievement is being the wife of Min. Tyrone Malone and mother of their two beautiful children.
